Christmas is Coming! Are you ready??

Oh My Goodness - my countdown calendar says 15 days to Christmas - so time is going fast! And I've got two things to help you with your to-do list!!

FIRST - I'm sharing some last minute cards I have made in the past few days in case you need some quick ideas to finish off your cards for family, friend, co-workers and everyone else on your "I've been good this year" list! Like the ideas??  - then make them smaller for gift cards or tags if you don't need full size cards!

The first three cards "happened" because I am trying to use up my Designer Series papers (so I can buy more next year, of course!), along with that fabulous Subtle Stripes Satin Ribbon in the Holiday Catalogue.  And check out that cute reindeer clip with the enamel dot for his nose - so much fun!

The "Rudolph" card I saw on Pinterest and knew I had to adapt it and use those antlers that came in the Wonderland Stamp Set - they are so cute!! Did you know you can colour our Rhinestones with a Sharpie marker or alcohol markers? So easy to get just the right colour - of course I used Real Red for the nose!

SECOND - And to help us finish off our projects (cards, tags, Christmas (or New Years) table decorations and place cards), Stampin' Up! announced today that they are having a year end clearance on-line so you can shop at home, and have your order sent directly to your house in time to finish off all your projects (or to buy at special prices so you have what you need ready for next year - kinda like an early Boxing Day sale!).

Many products I used in these cards are either on the year end clearance sale or in the Holiday Catalogue retired list - so check it out and get them while they are still available - once they are gone, they are gone and I don't want YOU to be the one with the sad face!

You can use this link to see all the details - while the Year-end Sale is on, you won't find a separate category for "clearance rack" but don't worry - they've all been rolled into the one area so you won't miss out on anything on your wish list!

All on-line shoppers receive a special thank-you gift from me when you order, so don't be "anonymous" or I can't send you the "Thank You"! And I do want you to know I appreciate you sharing your crafting time with me!

Happy Stamping, and a special wish for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you so much for being a part of my stampin' world!

Thank you for making our 3rd Annual Ronald McDonald House fundraiser a big success!!

Wow - we had so much fun yesterday with our guests at our 3rd annual RMHC Stamp-a-Stack for Christmas. All guests made 9 different Christmas cards during the day, and will receive the project plans for all cards in their email "in" box - watch for it!

Lots of prizes for everyone (picture above), coffee and donuts to start the day, a "build your own sandwich" lunch with some seriously fun cupcakes, and making some great cards (picture below) with demonstrators who shared their talents. Look forward to seeing YOU next year!

We raised over $3000.00 which will fund more than 40 nights for families needing to stay close to Children's Hospital while their kids receive much needed health care treatments. Here's a quick link to our local Ronald McDonald House site for more information on their services for families in need. Ronald McDonald House Charities is the Stampin' Up! charity of choice, and we are so proud to be part of this event. Over the years, Stampin' Up! has donated over $1 million dollars to local houses wherever they are . . .  what a great feeling to be part of this cause and share in yesterday's event.

This year's special Stamp Set is called "Sprinkles of Life" and $3.00 from the sale of every stamp set will go from Stampin' Up! to local RMH Charities. Check in with me if you'd like to have it and help us help kids and their families be together :-)

Thank you so much to everyone who attended as a guest, to the donors who helped us with raffle prizes and to my demonstrator friends who shared the event with me (as well as their pictures) - together we rock!!

Mixing up some OLD with some NEW - and a new Make it Monday time

Last week was a busy week in my family for birthdays and anniversaries. I decided to make several variations of the cards you see here, so I could get them done and in the mail! Sometimes it's hard to think of so many different cards - this "short cut" is a good way to send out your handmade cards to your family and friends, showing them you remembered their event, and use up some of those products sitting on your desk:

I had some "Adventure Bound" paper left from early spring that looks like wood grain, die cut some maple leafs from the retired Autumn Accents Bigz die, stamped them with our new Happy Scenes stamps and coloured the pumpkins and leaves, added another glitter leaf, some burlap ribbon and a special greeting for each person - lots of fun to make and I am sure the cards put a smile on their faces when they opened their envelope.

Last month at our Make it Monday we started thinking Christmas cards, as well as adding a card for any occasion to our card box (see picture). For my October 19th night, we will be thinking Christmas again, and making another card that can be easily changed up for birthdays, anniversaries or even a sympathy card. Make it Mondays are the 3rd Monday each month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm except July and August so put the dates into your calendar and give yourself some well-earned "me time".

Make it Mondays is for you if you want to drop in with no club commitment, pay $5.00 to make a couple of fun cards (no supplies required) or the cards are free with any product order. Send me a quick email or message me if you want to come so I can have your spot ready!

My Make it Monday evenings are a great way to try new products, ask me how to use tools that you have seen elsewhere and aren't sure about, and visit with friends who craft like you do (or want to try like you do!). I'm looking forward to see you next Monday!

Can't come but need some products??? Let me know and I will add it to my next order - or shop on line anytime and have your order go directly to your home!  Check my link here for the latest weekly deals, clearance centre items and regular catalogue items!

Remember to sign up for my blog updates so you will know when my events are on, and can plan to drop by!

Happy Stampin'!!

Paper Pumpkin Strikes Again!! 50% off - only until September 10th!!

Have you been thinking of getting on the Paper Pumpkin train, but keep putting it off until the specials are over?

Well, guess what? Paper Pumpkin has come back with ANOTHER 50% off special because they knew you were procrastinating!!

Stampin' Up! unveiled the August and September kits to convention attendees last week (no pictures were allowed) but the comments were that - "the two kits are absolutely awesome and TELL EVERYONE TO GET SIGNED UP so they don't miss out!!"

So here I am to let you know (in lots of time, but don't procrastinate again!) and here's the link to sign up - you will not be sorry, I promise you. And the best part, once signed up with Paper Pumpkin you can buy refill kits of your favourite projects! How cool is that?? Remember to use the promo code HALFOFF and you will be sooo happy you did! You can also skip a month any time if you will be away so no need to worry about the box sitting at your door and you're not home to pick it up.

Here's what I made with July's kit - I followed the directions for a couple of cards, but turned some on the side, and tilted some to give me lots of different cards from the one kit - and the box is great for taking camping, to the cabin or working on with your kids on rainy days. You'll always have some cards for those unexpected events - and you don't have to stamp the greeting until you are ready to use the card. Check out Pinterest each month for lots of more ideas to make your kit if the included directions aren't exactly what you need/like! The boxes can be handy storage for all the ink spots you will get, as well as the exclusive stamp sets. The only thing I added was my Snail Adhesive - everything else was in the kit. Glue sticks work equally well and we have some really good ones! Ask me!

Catching up with Summer Fun

If you missed my Make it Monday session the end of June - these are the two cards we did. One uses small bits of papers that you probably have sitting on your craft table (the ends were punched with the NEW Triple Banner Punch), along with the NEW Host Stamp Set called "Happy Birthday, Everyone" and it really does have a saying for anyone and everyone. It can be yours by hosting an event for you and your friends to stamp (you can even book my studio so no cleaning up at home required!!) or if you are putting in a large "wish list" order it can be yours too! The card on the right is a real rainbow of colours - a quick and happy card to send to a friend for a birthday. Stamp the same flower from Petite Petals Stamp Set in several colours - or shades of the same colour, punch out with the matching Petite Petals punch, add a bit of background from Gorgeous Grunge and a greeting (from Boys Will Be Boys) and you are done. So easy and fun!!

My next Make it Monday session will be September 21st, at 7:00 pm. Starting in September, I am going to try the 3rd Monday of the month to see if that helps some of you who would like to come but had commitments on the last Monday. That will also tie in with my weekend event to unveil the Holiday catalogue (Save the Date - September 17 - 20)  and you can see in person all the fun goodies we are getting to preview now! You will absolutely love some of the new dies, embossing folders and kits - and the paper, and the stamp sets . . . .  so much to love in this new catalogue. Making cards this year for Christmas is going to be FUN!!!

Need anything over summer - running out of paper or adhesives?? You can always order on-line and it will ship directly to your home! Super easy and quick too. If you are not in a hurry, I will have an order going in August 13th with my Stamp Club gang and would be happy to add yours to the list!

I've got one other card to show you that I made for a swap I'm in - it uses Endless Birthday Wishes - love the fun fonts - and the banner and star punches. I really liked the colour combo when I saw the idea on Pinterest. Happy Stampin'!

Don't have the NEW Annual Catalogue?? Let me know, it's free with any order!

Make it Monday June 29th - Last one before summer break!!

My "Make it Monday" drop in events are perfect for new stampers, or those who want to add to their card box. I show you how to create quick and easy cards, using basic designs so you can create more at home with your own products. I also try to find ways to help you use up that stash of paper so you can feel good when you want to buy new!

Join me Monday, June 29th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and make some cards to go into your "I need a card NOW" box!

Here's the quick card we did last month with one stamp set (Kinda Eclectic) - Soft Sky, Pool Party and Island Indigo Inks, a couple of mini pearls and a cut out silver flower that was sitting on my desk for some sparkle!

And here's the second project we did - mini thank you cards (Lovely Amazing You Stamp Set) in a cute bag to take as a hostess gift - great to have on hand when visiting family and friends this summer - or make some (using some of that paper you have!) so you are ready anytime with a "Thank You" that is sure to make your hosts smile and know you care about them!

My last picture is to show you recent cards I made for a swap I am in - each month we exchange cards based on a theme and it is awesome what a variety of cards and stamp sets are used! Such a creative group - love my Stampin' Up! friends :-) The card on the left uses "Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set" - the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp for 2015-2016 - $3.00 of every set sold goes to our local RMHC on your behalf. The stamp set coordinates with the new Tree Builder Punch making it super easy to get your card done!  The card on the right was stamped with Sweetbriar Rose and coloured with blender pens - a perfect way to "watercolour" without the mess!

Check out Pinterest for so many ideas - search under your stamp set name, plus Stampin Up and you will be amazed at how many ideas are being shared!

Want to be part of my team and get your own discount on products? Then check out the Join button on my website, or contact me by email - I'll get you going! Here's my link for shopping, joining or browsing ideas click here to start!

Paper Pumpkin kits are better than ever and SO reasonable - take a kit to the cottage, in your trailer when you head out camping or save it as a rainy day project with the kids this summer (if we get some rain!) Here's the latest kit when it arrived - I'm waiting to make it with a friend!  Click on this link to get started yourself!

Until next time - have fun stampin' and happy summer!

So many ways to colour - what's your favourite??

With Stampin' Up! announcing today that they will no longer carry the Blendabilities markers because of some serious quality issues (more at the end of this post), I realized I should remind you that there are still so many ways to enjoy colouring your stamps or backgrounds on your cards and layouts.

Stampin' Up! has wonderful stamp pad ink colours, and they work so well to "watercolour" with either Aqua Painters or Blender Pens - just a quick press on the closed lid, open the ink pad and you have a small pool of colour on the lid - ready to use with either brush style!

You can also get quality Stampin' Write markers in all the colour families, in the two In - Colour series, and in single markers for the most popular colours. These water based markers make it super easy to do multi-colour stamping and the brush ends are perfect for colouring flowers, leaves or words on any of your stamps. So versatile and easy giving you control over each brush stroke. Sponges and sponge daubers are another quick and fun way to get colouring onto your papers . . . .  so let's start colouring!

I saw a post on Facebook yesterday that there are now "adult" colouring books for sale  to help us "de-stress" - at a huge price too - something like $20.00 per book! Instead of buying a colouring book at an outrageous price, why not grab some stamps and paper, and colour up some birthday or other occasion cards and make someone super happy to receive your artwork? Stamps, ink and paper - keep it simple, have fun and create at the same time - a WIN-WIN for you and a great feeling when you pass on your card to someone special!

Ready to colour? Then contact me to play at my "Make it Monday" session on the last Monday of each month where you will go home with tons of ideas and two cards to add to your box for when you absolutely need a card "Now!"  The next drop in session is March 30th at 7:00 pm.

And here are the February Make it Monday samples! So easy and fun to create . . . .  . use up some of those pretty papers in your stash as you make some cards for any event!

Or maybe you would like to join my monthly stamp club which started in February - I still have one spot left and it is on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm, with an optional time the day after on Friday at 11:00 am. You will get to be "hostess" once in the 8 sessions and have your turn at "free" rewards!! Minimum commitment is only $25.00 per month and you choose what products you need as well as learn new techniques and take home two cards to share or show off your new skills. Last month we did these two cards at Stamp Club, one very girly with the pink butterfly and the other a masculine version of a Valentine's Day or Anniversary card.

And now for the update on Blendabilities - we will miss having them but do appreciate that Stampin' Up! considers quality of a product above all for you and me to use!

As you may know, there have been some issues with the Blendabilities markers, which resulted in the product not being able to be ordered. Stampin' Up! initially noticed quality issues with this product, but they were within normal industry quality control standards.  Recently the problem has become greater than acceptable standards and unfortunately Stampin' Up! was not able to come to a solution with the manufacturer that meets the standards they demand for their products. The defect relates to the pens arriving with no ink in them or the pens drying out within the first little while. Sadly Stampin' Up! has made the difficult (but correct) decision to withdraw the product from the catalogue effective immediately.

Stampin' Up! is committed to making this right for our customers.  If you have purchased Blendabilities from me, please check them all ASAP.  If you are happy with the product (and mine are just fine), then you can keep the markers and use them.  If you find a defect please contact me and I will report it to Stampin' Up! and let you know on the resolution.

Moving forward Stampin' Up! is committed to finding a solution for this product as the Blendabilities were very popular and the demonstrator base has been asking for a product like this for years.  But they won't do anything until they have a reliable product line that will truly meet our needs and their high level of quality. Thanks Stampin' Up! for continuing to provide us with quality products that we can depend on!

Please email me for any products you need, or to help you with a crafting idea . . . .  you can also shop on-line any time, day or night, in pj's or high heels - it's up to you. Click here and check out the Weekly Deals from my side bar, the clearance rack or any of the new and awesome kits!

Have fun colouring and crafting and hope to see you soon!
