My Favourite New In Colors for Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop

Have you seen the NEW In Colors yet?? Aren't they just the perfect combination of bright and cheerful? I've picked three favourites to share some fairly quick cards with you in our Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop today . . . . relax with your favourite cuppa' and enjoy all the creativity from each of our posts - and we do love it when you can leave a comment too!

I'm using the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes to create my cards today and I picked the Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide bases with matching envelopes.

I took the idea for the Basic White focal point on the card from the new 2022 - 2023 Annual Catalogue cover card - I really like the layering using the die that cuts out the spiral binding style holes. You will find it in the Blossoming Happiness Dies that coordinate with the Happiness Abounds stamp set - and there's a bundle too to save $$.  It was so easy to do along with the background die cuts using my new Magnetic Cutting Plate found on p 157.  You can see in the picture below how well the dies cut and left almost all the bits behind too. A quick brush into my bin and they were gone. I'm super happy with the way this magnetic plate cuts and it's very solid!

While I had my "Big Boss" out, I cut the Taylor Made Tag Die too and then stamped it with the image from the Bottled Happiness Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink. Then I ran the die through again to take just the end off - stopping (and backing off) as soon as the end of the die went through the machine.

I stamped the short bottle image in Tahitian Tide on a 3" x 4" Basic White piece, then added the leaf image in Parakeet Party. I lined up the flower image and stamped it in Sweet Sorbet then fussy cut the stamped images for the next step. It was really easy to line up the images with the photopolymer stamps!

I layered the pieces using Dimensionals then added some 2022-2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots and a double bow made with the coordinating 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack to finish off my cards. I hope you like them and will try something similar yourself - super quick when you start out with the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes in the In Colors!

Want to get these products for yourself? You can shop online anytime using my link here or connect with me to help you get your purchases to you 🙂💕

Want more crafting ideas? Join me for my Craft and Chat evenings on Zoom so you can join from anywhere - if you aren't getting my invites let me know and I'll add you to my list! Next Craft and Chat is June 21st at 7:00 pm - I'd love to share some crafting time with you!

**Sorry for the shadows on my pictures - I did the cards and post while camping and the trailer has tinted windows!

Until next time - happy stamping!

Sunday Share - Abstract Beauty Quick and Easy Hits of Gold!

When you find yourself short on time to make a few cards, then a Suite of products like the Abstract Beauty Suite in the January-June 2022 Mini (Spring Mini) can easily come to the rescue. Pair it with a stamp set like Celebrating You and you've got so many occasions covered and ready to make and send . . .

I made these three cards to show some of the items in the suite, but also had to share one of the new die  sets in the just released 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue called Fabulous Frames Dies. These dies add the perfect touch to your card making supplies and will add a classy look to any cards you are making.  I die cut one piece of Gold Foil (5 1/4" x 4") and die cut two frames and the punched heart shape from that piece - no waste!

All the cards were made with the Abstract Beauty Cards & Envelopes (you get ten different cards and envelopes in the pack) and from there I added some pieces from the Abstract Beauty Ephemera Pack to finish off the cards. I also used some of the Abstract Beauty Designer Series Papers with its hints of gold on one side for two of my cards - can you guess which ones?

Here's close-ups of each of the cards I made - it was so easy to add the layers and play with the various pieces in the Ephemera Pack to get the finished designs 🙂💕 I used another new die set for the sentiments called Stylish Shapes Dies - you can get just the right size for each of your sentiments!

Here's the picture of the various sentiments in Celebrating You - you can't go wrong with a versatile set like this one!

The Spring Mini will be retiring the end of June, and once the retiring list is posted next week I know some of these items will be in short supply. Now is the time to get your order in and pick up the items on your wish list before they go forever . . .  you can shop my online store anytime using this link, or connect with me to help you place your order.

Happy stamping!

Sunday Share - Let's Look At the Honeybee Home Bundle!

The Honeybee Home Bundle is part of the Heart & Home Suite of products in the Spring Mini (also known as January-June 2022 Mini) and it has some great stamps and sentiments as well as coordinating dies to make your stamped images look so good!

I liked a couple of the card ideas in the catalogue on p 61 and decided to make them full-size cards instead of the small square and tag. It's so easy to change up the ideas in the catalogue to make a card or layout your way with the inspiration shown on each page.

Some of the items I used will probably be retiring the end of June so I'd recommend you look at getting them now before they are sold out and no longer available. I'm sure the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper will retire as DSP is not usually a carryover item and the Denim Ribbon will probably be gone too - sad I know but you can still get them now!

I did add a couple of new products to my cards today - The Deckled Rectangle Dies and Stylish Shapes Dies are on the card above, and they greeting label is from the Stylish Shapes Dies in the card below. The greeting on the second card is from Happy & Heartfelt Stamp Set and ahs some fun sentiments in a scripty font . . .  which I love!!

I did try the new Magnetic Cutting Plate in the Annual Catalogue #161128 and it is a dream to use - the dies cut so easily and I only had to do a tiny bit of a flick with the Pick Tool to get them off!  I did adjust the sandwich though - I only used the base #1, then Magnetic Plate #5, then the cardstock with dies on top, then Plate #3

Here's a video from Stampin' Up! to share some of the features of this suite - I'm sure you will love it as much as I do!!

I hope you enjoy my cards today - I'd love to share some crafting time with you on Zoom - I send out invites ahead for the third Tuesday each month at 7:00 pm. If you aren't on my list, let me know so you can tune in too and meet other stampers. Check my events page for the dates and if you want to shop online (click here) then remember to use my current Host Code in the sidebar on my blog and I can track your order and include you in draws each month for shared host rewards.

Sunday Share - Happy Mother's Day With Happy Hedgehogs!

It's Mother's Day today - whether you are a mom, have a mom or have someone in your life who is like a mom - we hope that you can take some time to reflect and enjoy this day that's set aside to honour all the mom-like feelings in our world 💕🙂💌 and maybe touch base with one or more people who mean the most to you when you think of "mom".

Here's a quick card to make if you forgot one - quicker than going to the store and choosing one for sure! I'm sharing a CASE from the Spring Mini using Happy Hedgehogs Stamp Set on p 64 which has some great images as well as the featured Hedgehogs! And adding the punch makes a great bundle that you can quickly make some really cute cards!

Today's card is a notecard size, so perfect to add to a gift from the heart . . . maybe you are baking a cake, cutting some flowers from your garden, or finding a special treat that you know will make your special someone happy. In addition to one of the Basic White Notecard and Envelope p 137, you will need a Basic White cardstock layer measuring 3" x 4 1/2" to stamp and colour.

I protected my grid paper with a sheet of paper towel just in case but I didn't make too much of a mess! Add Calypso Coral ink to a clear block, then take the fine tip Water Painter and drip a bit of water on the block, then swish around and draw lines on the Notecard front. Add more ink to the clear block, then use the large flat brush tip to make the wide lines. Don't worry about getting them straight - the stamping layer will cover any wavy lines!

Stamp your greeting in Calypso Coral Ink - mine is from Celebrating You on p 65 in the Spring Mini still going strong until the end of June so don't overlook some of the great products in it! My picture below shows how I added a small post-it to my Basic White piece so I could easily line it up in my punch. This is a great tip for using smaller pieces to stamp and punch your greetings.

I stamped the pretty tree image from Happy Hedgehogs in Memento Black and added bits of colour with Old Olive and Calypso Coral Blends to the tree. I also stamped the butterfly on the envelope front and dabbed some bits of colour on it too.

There you are - while your cake was baking, you've made this card which will be appreciated so much! While I have my supplies out I usually make another card or two so I punched a "Thank You" greeting for my other card so I have it handy when I need to grab one in a hurry.

Here's another card I made awhile back that shows more of the Happy Hedgehog images - the hedgehog was stamped, coloured then punched, the bird and toadstool were stamped, coloured and fussy cut before adding to my card. So cute!!

Reminder that my Craft and Chat event is coming up on May 17th at 7:00 pm and I'd love to have you join us on Zoom. Let me know if you aren't getting my invites and I'll add you to the list! (My last newsletter said it was on May 19th, but it really is on the 17th!!). What's Your Favourite Product in the New Annual Catalogue?

That's today's Blog Hop question at Crafty Collaborations and for me it was an easy choice! Hop along with each of the other participants to see what their favourite is - it might just become your new fave too! We love when you leave comments on our blogs so hoping you will take the time to say Hi and share a few words on our posts!

I absolutely LOVE all the New In Colors and can't wait to share them with everyone . . . . today's card highlights the In Color Designer Series 6" x 6" Paper Pack, along with some of the coordinating Bakers Twine (from the combo pack), the Tahitian Tide ink and a few of the In Color Matte Decorative Dots!

Whew!! That's a lot of new In Color Products and that's not even all of them that you can purchase to make coordination on your cards or layouts super easy!  I doubled each of the colours in the Designer Series Paper Pack in strips using the Slim Cards Die (part of the Slim Sayings Bundle p 52) in the January - June Spring Mini and still going strong for you until June 30th!

I discovered that each of the middle chevron shapes were the same size, so I only needed to die cut part of the shape with each colour of DSP. BUT if you want to make lots of the same card, you could die cut the full strip, then play with alternating colours and make a bunch of cards at once! I die cut the white from Thick Basic White cardstock, the same as I used for the card base which was 8 1/2" x 7"; scored at 3 1/2" making it the perfect size for the Slimline Envelopes in the Spring Mini too (p 53).

I wrapped the die cut layer with three of the Bakers Twine colours and tied a triple bow - the twine is so soft that it will work going through the mail too! My sentiment comes from the new stamp set called Limited Edition that I received for attending OnTour 2022 a virtual training event I attended mid April.

If that's not enough In Color happiness for you - then signing up from now until May 31st will get you some extra special bonuses with the new In Colors - take a look at this offer pictured below! If your wish list is close to or more than $135 then this is a real budget helper - pay $135 with no shipping and get your choice of products to a value of $165 (any products from either the Spring Mini or new Annual catalogue) plus all these In Color goodies - a $91.25 value. As long as you keep up your "membership", you can shop with a minimum 20% discount each time you order.

What do you think? It's a super deal that's almost impossible to resist, right?? I'd love to have you join my team and craft with us! Connect with me or use my Join the Fun link above 😉

Need some of those new supplies now? Then shop my link here and check out my events page for next Craft and Chat night coming May 17th . . .  when you use my current Host Code YDF79BYC you can get in the draws for shared rewards each month - my customers love earning FREE products!!
