Sunday Share - Family Fun and Birthday Cards

We are spending time with Chris and Becky on their farm outside Nelson - we have our special spot for our trailer, and of course get to help them with whatever projects are going on - since they started their house renovations last June, there is ALWAYS something to work on!

This year was helping with their front porch which runs the length of the house - it's going to be a perfect spot to relax once they finish - here's some pictures to share with you of their work in progress with Dave being an active "supervisor" as well as the dogs . . . .

The lambs and sheep enjoy all the pastures around the farm - lots of good grass for them to chomp on. They spend their day roaming the hills on the property and eating as they go . . .

They have chickens too - so farm fresh eggs all the time - although they have just got a new flock started so not too many eggs as the chickens grow and start laying on a regular basis . . .

Here's the birthday card I made for Chris on his birthday this past week - it seemed really appropriate to use the chickens for him even though it is a retied stamp set! I think he liked it!!

Sunday Share - back in BC and visiting family plus some cards!

We've spent the past week back in BC, first camping in Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, then driving to the Nelson area to stay with our son Chris and DIL Becky.

Here's some of our trip highlights for you to see - starting with the sunset on our last night in Fairmont Hot Springs about 10:00 pm!

I thought you might appreciate what a "straight" road in BC looks like, compared to the prairie roads we drove on earlier in our trip - lots of mountains and you know there will shortly be a curve in the road!

Lots of great scenery in the mountains - 

And our camping spot at Chris and Becky's - fun to watch the baby lambs play around while their moms focus on eating!

That awesome Copper Trim on the card below is in the new catalogue too - it separates and looks like netting!  I added copper embossing, and a small strip of paper that had some copper foil highlights!

And the Lace Trim is back too - I sponged Tranquil Tide on some of the retired Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Catalogue - a great way to get a new look!

Sunday Share - Catching up on our trip, with some cards for you

I did plan on being able to share something of our trip each week with you but we had no consistent internet connections since leaving family in Sundre AB last Friday, so today's post will give you a couple of prairie pictures, and some cards that I made on the road too!

First a shot of the "goes forever" road that we saw driving to Saskatoon and around the area. My cousin took us to Moose Jaw where we did the Underground Tunnel Tours - if you have never done them put it on your bucket list as they were fascinating! Unfortunately we were not allowed to take any pictures, so you need to check them out yourselves on line.

One night as we headed back to the campground from her place we were just in time to see the sun setting - beautiful sky!

And we stayed at Gordie Howe Campground - what were the chances we would get #9 site???  The hedges between each site were lilac bushes - and boy did our allergies ever suffer as they were all blooming!

As we headed  back west this week, we stayed a couple of days in Drumheller - the badlands are really different and great for picture taking! As the weather turned super hot (only for those two days) we weren't able to tour the museum since we couldn't leave Sammy in the car.
