Something Fancy (And Easy) Birthdays for Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop!

Welcome to our Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop today - I hope you enjoy all the creativity as much as we enjoy sharing our ideas with you. Grab your favourite cuppa' and hop along to each site and please comment too - we love knowing you visited our post!!

I chose a few items from the Spring Mini to make my card today as well as a favourite die from the Annual Catalogue called Stitched Greenery (p 174). It makes a really neat impression on one of the Lovely Layers Vellum sheets also in the Annual Catalogue (p 139) for a subtle background over my Mango Melody Cardstock base.

All the rest of the products used are from the Spring Mini (January - April 2023).  I chose one of the smaller designs in the 6" x 6" Regency Park Designer Series Paper Pack for my contrast piece and then reached for my Something Fancy Bundle and inked my greeting in Night of Navy, then die cut it with the dies in the bundle. This is a great combination bundle with the greetings for both inside and out on your cards, plus the dies to cut so many shapes and layers too.

I decided to add some Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon to my greeting and love the effect it gives.  This is awesome ribbon - soft to fold, but so easy to cut too and no fraying!

My final touch was a few Mango Melody Adhesive Backed Milky Dots, then I added some of the DSP to my envelope flap and on the inside of my card and my card was done!  I hope you like it and that it inspires you to make some cards too to send to your family and friends.  They really do appreciate them!

Sale-a-bration is still on until February 28th so grab your list and place your order so you don't miss out on your Free gifts! You can click here to get to my store quickly and if you add my current Host Code you can also get in my draws for sharing monthly Host Rewards. February's Host Code is CXKVWJNJ and new monthly Host Codes are at the top of my blog sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the hop!

Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop - Friendly Gnomes Country Gingham Card

It's another fun day today when our Canada Inks Up! team shares some new products from the January - April 2023 Mini (aka Spring Mini)  - I can't wait to see what everyone has done as it's always the best inspiration for new ideas!

I wanted to make a couple of cards with two different colours from the Country Gingham Designer Series Paper as I thought they were bright and spring-like . . .  and I wanted to have my stamping layer have the Stitched With Whimsy Dies on it because I love the effect.

When I ran the rectangle shaped die through my Basic White Cardstock strip, I realized I could make another card with the square Whimsy Die and that became my favourite card idea to share with you today! Funny how that happens sometimes LOL!

I reached for the new Friendly Gnomes stamps and picked the cute guy holding the heart and then added the Love You sentiment too  - I stamped some of the grass image in Parakeet Party to coordinate with the blends I used for the gnome's shirt . . .  I added some vellum behind the stamped piece for added texture.

The Thick Basic White card base was a great start and the Sweet Sorbet Country Gingham pattern added the bright contrast I was going for  . . .  I cut the 6" x 6" DSP at 4" then cut that piece at 5 1/4" and used the 2" x 6" piece that was left for my envelope flap, and the 3/4" x 4" piece on the inside of my card - that used every bit of the DSP for the one card - don't you love when that happens??  If you look carefully you can see the bit of Wink of Stella I added to the heart shape and my final embellishments were the smallest size of the In Color Matte Decorative Dots.

Then I went back to my original plan to use the Balmy Blue Gingham Check for a card, and cut it the same as the first card - giving me a 2" strip to add to my envelope, and a 3/4" strip to decorate the inside of my card.

This time I wanted to share how easy it is to get great results with the Two-Step in the Beautifully Happy Stamp Set - a Sale-a-bration item that you can choose as a Free Gift when your order is $120 - and with so many great new bundles in the Spring Mini it will be easy to reach that amount!!

The flower and the Balmy Blue cardstock and DSP make for a really pretty birthday card - I know someone is going to enjoy their happy mail from me very soon! I added some Gold Pastel Adhesive-backed Sequins for a bit of bling - what do you think?? Which card do you like best?? I'd love to see what you are making so share with us here๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’•

The Regency Park Suite Makes Stunning Cards - Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop

I'm "hopping" today with my Canada Inks Up! team friends to share some of the new products coming to you on January 5th. Not long to wait until you can purchase all the new products too (or you can join my team and start shopping before then - just one of the many perks of being a part of the Stampin' Up! family)! Check out each blog post and enjoy the sneak peeks from the new Spring Mini and Sale-a-bration flyer too!

I chose to highlight some of the Regency Park Suite products on p 30-31 today - especially the Petal Park Bundle and the Regency Park Designer Series Papers. I also used the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder and the Adhesive Backed Milky Dots on my cards. I took my inspiration from one of the concept artist designs but changed it up for my cards. I did lots of "stamping off" for both the flowers and the leaves.

For my sentiments I turned to a Sale-a-bration Stamp Set called Beautifully Happy and used it on the front as well as the inside of my cards. It's a great stamp set with some two-step floral images as well as several sentiments for both the front and inside of your cards - something we are always asking for!!

Tip: When punching out images, use a small Post-it note to hold the cardstock - makes it easy to insert and line up your images before you punch!

I usually make at least a couple of cards when I sit down to create - since I'm cutting the cardstock in half, I figure why not use both pieces now while I'm stamping, die cutting or punching?? Then I have cards ready when I need them instead of panicking at the last minute!

There is still some time to shop the Last Chance items from the Holiday Mini - until January 4th or while supplies last so tick off those wish list items and get them before they are gone!

The Clearance Rack refresh from earlier this month still has loads of items available and you can shop that section while you are getting anything else . . . use my current Host Code on my blog sidebar and get in my draws for sharing Host Rewards - it's always fun to shop for free!

You can shop my online store anytime - in any weather - and in pjs if you want - if you need help do message or email me so I can get you on the right track. Until next time . . .

Happy stamping!

Birthdays Are The Theme - Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop

If you are needing to make some quick birthday cards then check today's post for some inspiration!!  Our Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop features birthday cards which we always need to have on hand . . .  who likes the thought of running out to the store at the last minute to pick up a card or two??

I sure don't and that's why I usually turn to our Annual Catalogue for all the amazing year-round products and get my inspiration from the Designer Series Papers, the Stamps and Dies or Punches, and the fabulous artwork from the Stampin' Up! concept artists on each page!

I needed some cards for men in my life, so turned to the He's The Man Suite on p 78-79 . The Specialty Designer Series Papers were perfect for some quick cards where I only had to add a stamped greeting found in the Celebrating You set.

Here's another one - same design and different die-cuts!

And a close-up of those cool die-cuts!

I'm sure you could have these cards ready to give before you could grab your purse, keys and get to the nearest store ๐Ÿ˜‰. You really need to take a second look at the DSP because it has two sheets of punch out Die Cuts to coordinate with the DSP - look how the card below doesn't need any stamped greeting - it's all DSP!

And those die-cuts are perfect for adding to your scrapbook layouts too . . . I keep all my die-cuts in a Clear Envelope in the pack of DSP - always ready for me to use!

I can't forget cards for any of my girl friends - somehow they seem easier to make or maybe it's that I have a few (well, maybe more than a few LOL!) stamps with floral images. The card below is made with one of my favourite sets called Painted Poppies on p 29 and the greeting is stamped then die cut using the Charming Sentiments Bundle on p 38 - love the effect the dies give to the words! The background DSP is from Tea Boutique 6" x 6" DSP.

I hope these cards inspire you to make a few to keep on hand - they are quick and easily adaptable to the products you have in your stash!

If you need any inspiration I'd love to help you - just message or give me a call ๐Ÿ’•. You can also check out my Zoom Craft and Chat events - let me know to add your email to my invite list!

Colour Challenge with Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the October edition of Canada Inks Up! Blog Hop. We've got a cool colour challenge today so join me as we get inspired by each post in the hop - you can check the list at the bottom of my post so you don't miss anyone!

Our theme this month is a Colour Challenge that really says Halloween to me so I decided to try something a bit different to share so you can see that almost any group of colours can be turned into a card for any occasion. The colours are: Basic Black, Silver and Purple (I picked Highland Heather and Orchid Oasis).

I used the Black & White Designs Paper pack in the Holiday Mini to create my background, then added some Highland Heather from the Brights 6" x 6" DSP assortment. I added two colours from the Glitter Washi Four Pack for accents plus a piece of the Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon.

Over all the Designer Series Paper layers I added the focal point greeting which I embossed using both the Let's Celebrate and Thanks & Hello Embossing folders with some Silver Foil. A bit different card for me but I think it works and will be a fun card to send to someone next time I need a birthday card. I added a bit of green washi on the Thanks card for some added contrast.

If you need to get any of the products I've shared today, or are still wanting supplies for some holiday projects do let me know or shop here any time. My online store is open 24/7 and ready to take your orders. Please use my current Host Code PMTNQQXT when your order is under $200 so I can include you in my draws for sharing Host Rewards each month.

I'd love to see you at my next Craft and Chat on November 22nd at 7:00 pm. We meet on Zoom so no driving and you can work on your own projects or craft along with me as we learn about a new technique or idea. If you aren't getting my email invites let me know to add you to my list - I'd love to see you soon!

Reminder that there is still a great Starter Kit/Join Offer happening now where you can sign up for the discount and grab so much more in product than usual with no shipping either - no tricks but lots of treats for you and your wish list - but only until October 31st! Follow this link to join me and a great team of crafty gals just like you!

Thanks for taking a look at my cards today and I hope they inspire you to try something a bit different with your colours! Take a minute to let us know you've visited as we all love to hear from you!

Rustic Harvest DSP Makes Great Fall Cards - Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop

Our Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop today has a wide open "anything in the July - December Mini" theme so I decided to go with the season and share some cards for Autumn birthdays and anniversaries that I have coming up shortly . . . hope you enjoy seeing all our cards and that you will leave us a comment too when you visit!

I've used some of the designs in the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Papers for my cards - they really set the tone for fall don't you think? I paired the DSP with Cajun Craze and Basic Black cardstock.

My anniversary card also features the Leaf Label that I lightly coloured with my Sponge Daubers to add some fall tones - you can see the difference between the top and bottom leaf in the picture below. I added some Classic Matte Dots to my leaf on the Tag Die for a finishing touch. Inside I added a greeting and a strip of the DSP, and I added a  wider strip of the DSP to my envelope to give it a finishing touch ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’•

This birthday card was going in a whole different direction until I spotted the two pieces of DSP on my workspace and really liked the black and white designs together so that became my card! I started with an Old Olive standard card base, layered the two Designer Series Papers, then embossed a piece of Basic White with the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder and die cut using a Stitched Rectangle Die for the focal point on the card.

I wanted to bring in some of the fall colours so die cut a couple of the oak leaves (I think they are) from the Season of Chic Stamps and the Chic Dies and added a few of the leftover die cut leaves from the Apple Harvest Dies that were sitting out from a previous post.

Greetings are from Penguin Place (birthday) and Celebrating You (anniversary).

Reminder - it's your last chance to shop the Weekly Deals today and here is the link to check them out -

Perfect Partners ends September 30th so grab those coordinating stamps and dies bundles while you can - the dies will be gone October 1st so don't miss out!! Click this link to go directly to my Perfect Partners shopping!
