Sunday Share - It's A Wonderful World With Sale-a-bration!!

Yes, it's Sale-a-bration time again and just in time for us to shop in the new Holiday Mini Catalogue (really known as the July-December 2022 Mini) and earn FREE products like this fabulous bundle of stamps and Designer Series Papers . . . .

Take a look at the video from Stampin' Up! to learn some of the background in the creation of this classy duo! If you are reading this in my newsletter and it doesn't play for you, then click to my blog link and you can get to it from there 😉

Isn't that cool that they have taken flowers from around the world and added them into the designs? I knew I loved the papers when I first saw them, but it was even better once I knew some of the history that went into creating the papers. You can see all the designs here - what's your favourite?

I had so much fun making cards from the different papers - here's some of the ones I made recently -

This card started with a Flirty Flamingo Fabulous Frames Die cut and some Blending Brushes for the background in the same colour. Then I picked a floral image from one of the Designer Series Papers in the pack and fussy cut the image to coordinate with my background. The greeting was stamped then die cut using the Charming Sentiments bundle - love the way the dies coordinate with all the sentiments!! I added a strip of one of the smaller designs to my envelope flap - super quick card and so pretty!! I think I might add some of the Patel Pearls in pink to my card - what do you think?

This next card was a fun idea I saw from a newsletter stampin' friend and it turned out so cute and was super quick too . . . . simply stamp the rose image in the Wonderful World stamp set in a circle. I  started with the lighter Highland Heather ink colour and did one at the top with the stem into the middle - then I did around the circle kind of like compass points (N, E, S, W) all in Highland Heather. I then filled in between each flower image with the darker Gorgeous Grape and covered the messy centre area with a Gorgeous Grape Cardstock label die cut from All That Dies then added the greeting stamped and die cut from the Charming Sentiments Bundle. I ran the layer through the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, glued it to a Highland Heather Cardstock layer and popped it all onto a Thick Basic White card base. More Pastel Pearls (added after the picture - sorry!) on the front of the card and some DSP on the envelope flap to coordinate!

My last card to share is so quick and easy to do - I picked one of the Wonderful World  Designer Series Papers in the pack with small images and punched a bunch of them with my Rectangular Postage Punch then popped three of them onto one of the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes. These are a super timesaver to have on hand and the In Color designs coordinate so well with many of our Designer Series Papers too! I picked the Orchid Oasis card base for my card today and loved how it worked with the floral images . . . I added a punched rectangle in Basic White and stamped my "Best Wishes" on it in Orchid Oasis Ink  (from Artistically Inked stamp set) then added some In Color Matte Decorative Dots and Bakers Twine to finish that card. This card was done in no time!

When it's hot outside, it's nice to be able to cool off a bit inside downstairs where my craft room is - I hope you are staying cool and creative too!  Check out the new Holiday Mini -

Lights Aglow Adds Sparkle to Canada Inks Up! Blog Hop

It's that time again - time to hop with our Canada Inks Up! Team as we celebrate Christmas in July! It's become quite a popular theme for a really good reason - as crafters we need to get a head start on making our cards, bags and tags so starting now just makes sense!  Join us as we share some great projects and please leave a comment when you visit so we know you were there!

Today I'm featuring some of the sparkly goodness in the Lights Aglow Suite shown on p 30-33 in the July-December 2022 Mini (also known in my end of town as the Holiday Mini!). The Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper Pack features some stunning prints all with some gold d\in the designs on one side. The other side is a great neutral for any time of the year . . .  . and the colours are pretty much my favourites for creating cards and gift boxes for Christmas giving.

My first card features some of the DSP peeking through a Gold Glimmer Specialty Paper frame die cut from the Picture This Dies.  I also used some of the Evening Evergreen Glimmer Specialty Paper to die cut the trees (Snowman Dies p 44) and then added the sparkly Real Red Glimmer Paper bird die cut (also from Snowman Dies).  I stamped the greeting in Evening Evergreen and die cut with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies (AC p 175) before I added a few of the Festive Pearls. The card base is Thick Very Vanilla - so nice to have the DSP coordinate with Very Vanilla for a new look💕

My next card was born when I looked at the pieces left from the first card's die cut frame and wanted to give them their own home - I decided to use the Sale-a-bration Silver & Gold DSP and a Thick Basic White card base. I added some more of the Evening Evergreen Glimmer Paper trees and the little bird (I die cut lots!) and then I added some of the gold pearls from the Festive Pearls Pack.

My final card is a result of my picking out the Cherry Cobbler sheet from the Lights Aglow DSP pack because I really liked the look of the card on p 30 in the Holiday Mini. It's pretty cool with the Layering Diorama Dies which I don't have - so I made a frame using my Deckled Rectangles Dies to highlight the pretty gold snowflake design behind the frame.

I used the Christmas Lights Bundle on this card - heat embossing the Gold design stamped first with VersaMark on the Evening Evergreen tree. Then I die cut the tree with both tree dies - the detail and the outline one. I also die cut the outline in Gold Glimmer Paper to sit behind the embossed tree and let some of the sparkle show through the cutouts. I added some gold Adhesive-backed Seasonal Sequins to this card and some Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon. All my cards have a bit of stamping inside (from Peaceful Deer and Christmas Lights stamp sets) and on the envelopes - I also used some DSP strips for the back flap on the envelopes.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and I hope you enjoyed my journey through some of the awesome papers in the Lights Aglow DSP pack. If you don't have your catalogues yet let me know as I have some ready for pick up or drop off. Meanwhile you can click on the pictures on my blog sidebar for all the goodies!!

Sweet Songbirds Sing For A Colour Challenge

This month's Crafty Challenge Blog Hop is all about colour - and lots of it too! I think my Sweet Songbirds were up to the challenge - especially when I gave them a slimline card to sing from! Join us as we share some awesome ideas and inspiration in today's blog hop posts. Grab your cup and hop around and please leave us a comment when you like a post - it really makes us smile!

I thought the slimline card would be ideal to show off each of the colours in the challenge and it worked for me - I love it when an idea in my head comes together in the card I envision! Our Slimline Envelopes are the perfect fit for my card - I used the Basic White this time!

The background Designer Series Paper is from Hues of Happiness and I was able to cut just the right amount to show the Granny Apple Green and the Crushed Curry portions of the DSP.

I die cut three rectangles from Basic White Cardstock using the Stylish Shapes Square Dies (2nd largest) and I die cut the greeting from one of the Harvest Dies.

All the other pieces came together from the Sweet Songbirds Stamps and coordinating Punch - the tree branches were stamped in Crumb Cake, the leaves in Granny Apple Green, the mini flowers in Melon Mambo  and the musical notes, greeting and eyes on the birds were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I stamped and punched out two birds - one in Crushed Curry the other in Bermuda Bay. The third little bird was stamped directly onto the Stylish Shapes Square Die cut in Melon Mambo.

I added some bling by colouring Basic Rhinestones with the Granny Apple Green Dark Blends and a hint of Wink of Stella on the songbird bodies. If you look closely it even shows in a couple of the pictures!

Click on my graphic below to see what products I used today and to shop my online store 24/7. If you'd like a "real" catalogue and don't have one let me know as I have yours waiting for pick up or drop off!

Sunday Share - Need Some Guy Cards? He's The Man!!

Today's share is all about making sure we have supplies on hand to make cards for the men in our lives - big or small they all appreciate cards that aren't super flowery or "girly" - don't you think?? The Annual Catalogue "He's The Man" Collection on p 78 features the perfect group of products for all your man cards for any occasion!

I really liked using the Designer Series Paper pack for my guy cards this past couple of month - I didn't even need to use the bundled He's All That stamps or dies to make some great birthday cards! For the first time that I can recall, Stampin' Up! added some die cuts to the paper pack so you can pop them out (I'm keeping mine in a clear envelope with the Designer Series Papers so they don't get lost).  There's two full sheets of die cuts included so you have lots of choices for card making or scrapbook pages. The themes of the paper range from BBQ-ing to camping and classic cards as well as perfect graphic designs to complete your projects!

Here's some sample cards created by our concept artists - they really know how to show off the products and give us ideas, don't they?

Here's the cards I made earlier to send out to family - and I'm going to make some more now because they were so popular 😉

Looking forward to seeing you at my next Craft and Chat on Zoom - you can check my events page for all the dates. If you aren't getting your email invites let me know so I can add you to my regular list . .  I'd love to craft with you!

Sale-a-bration is on now for two months along with the release of the new Holiday Mini. All SAB products are while supplies last so get your orders in soon so you know you have the FREE items of your choice! I've got your paper copies waiting for you - let me know when we can get together so I can give you yours!

Ready to shop? My online store is open 24/7 for you or you can contact me to help place your orders. Use my current Host Code (check my blog sidebar for the latest code) to get in the monthly draws for shared Host Rewards - closing dates are the at noon the day after my Craft and Chat events.

Stampin' Dreams - Christmas In July Blog Hop

Crafters LOVE "Christmas in July" as it gives us the best excuse (if we need one!) to break out all our holiday crafting supplies and start making cards and gifts ahead of time . . . .  sometimes it's just a reason to see what others are making as we browse internet sites looking for the best ideas. Does that sound like you?? It's definitely me! This Blog Hop is a great way to see lots of ideas all in one place!

Stampin' Up! released their Holiday Mini (aka July-December 2022) catalogue on July 1st along with their latest Sale-a-bration flyer and we are all buzzing to share some ideas with you today - grab your mug or cup and join us as we give you some great new products and tips. Remember to comment too as we love knowing that you stopped by!

My cards today started with my wanting to use the new Split Card Textures Dies in the Annual Catalogue along with the Sweet Candy Cane Bundle in the Holiday Mini.  I also grabbed the new Deckled Rectangles Dies for some background layering.

Part of the Sweetest Christmas Suite includes the Real Red & White Glimmer Paper and I've used that for a sparkly background on both my cards. I could get sparkle behind both die cuts with a 4" x 6" piece, cut at an angle like in the picture above. I was super happy that the Glimmer Paper shows in most of my photos too! And if you don't like glitter everywhere - then you will love this paper as nothing rubs off onto you or your workspace!

I die cut the candy canes from the Sweetest Christmas Designer Series Paper - how cool is that when we can use die cuts to cut out our DSP designs??  I'm quite happy to do fussy cutting any time, but it's so neat to have the dies work their magic for us! After I did the Garden Green card, I decided to turn my Real Red card to landscape and like how it came out! Which do you like best? I added the Festive Pearls and some of the Real Red & Garden Green Ribbon Combo pack to finish off the card (and a bit of the DSP to the envelope flap!)

Sale-a-bration is on until the end of August, and all items in the flyer are "while quantities last" so be sure to get your orders in sooner so you don't miss out on your choices. My favourite items are the Tree Lot Dies (you know I love camping!!) and then I usually pick up any Cards & Envelopes sets for making quick cards whenever I need some and I always find room for some amazing Designer Series Papers too! If you buy the Sweet Candy Cane bundle you earn a FREE Sale-a-bration item right away - add in some of your regular supplies and you've got enough to earn the Tree Lot Dies. It's that easy!!

If you need a new catalogue do let me know - I've got yours waiting for you to pick up, mail or drop off! Meanwhile use the links on my sidebar to see all the fabulous new bundles and papers . . .

I'd love to have you join me for my Craft and Chat nights on Zoom - message or email me for the link for the invites - next one is Tuesday July 19th at 7:00 pm.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stamping!

Sunday Share - Let's Create With Watercolouring - It's Easier Than You Think!

Does the very thought of watercolouring make you run and hide? Do you avoid any ideas that come your way if the say "watercolour" in them? Then this post is definitely for you! And if you embrace all things water - including colouring - then you are sure to pick up some quick tips too!

July is World Watercolour Month and Stampin' Up! has so many products to help us celebrate - from specialty Watercolor Paper, to Watercolor Pencils, Water Brushes, inks and more! And there's a technique for everyone - from simple and quick to more advanced!

Our concept artists who made these first designs have also created a video to share some great ideas with you so take a look and pick your fave, start making a card or two to practice and then send out to a friend! Watch it now from my blog then read on for more ideas from me!

I've got two really quick ways to make a card with watercolouring and here they are. The first one was featured more than a year ago in one of my online classes but I've updated it to current products.  I'm featuring the Wonderful World stamps and Designer Series Papers in this card - a FREE item with your qualifying purchases during July and August Sale-a-bration event (while supplies last). The watercolour part is done by making a quick water wash over watercolour paper, then adding your coloured image. Let it dry as it runs a bit - which is ok! Then stamp the sketch image over top in Memento Black or Basic Gray.  I did one stamped in colour using my markers, then did a second stamping right away for a softer look on the other card. Which do you like best??

The DSP and stamps make such pretty cards and you can earn the bundle by stocking up on your most used supplies (think cardstock, adhesives, ribbons etc) along with purchases from the Annual or Holiday Mini Catalogues. Don't have a catalogue yet? Ask me and I'll make sure you get one 😉😉 meanwhile you can check the links on my blog sidebar.

The second quick tip is to use a stamp set that is designed to give you the watercolour look just by stamping - so easy and no water anywhere!! Except on your card design LOL!  I took only 3 stamps from the Oceanfront stamp set to make the first scene above and added my sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set in the Annual Catalogue. I also added a few Faux Sea Glass Pebbles.

The next card used a few more images from the Oceanfront stamp set, and my sentiment came from In The Moment set. I added a few retired pebbles to the scene - thought they looked so cute on the beach!

I also used one of the FREE Sale-a-bration items "Pool Party & Soft Seafoam Cards & Envelopes" for my card bases making this a super project overall! I did add a Basic White layer to stamp on and that's it!!

Want to get your new products now and not wait for my Craft and Chat night order? You can use this link to my store and shop now!

My next Craft and Chat is on Tuesday, July 19th at 7:00 pm on Zoom. If you aren't getting my Mixily invites, please let me know to put you on my list and then you will get the Zoom link with measurements to cut your papers and craft along with me - or you can watch and wait for the handout next day! All qualifying orders ($35+) will go into my draws for shared Host Rewards - if you are ordering online and your order is under $200 use my current Host Code FZZWFEKX to be included in the draws. All online orders get a thank you from me at the end of each month!!

During Sale-a-bration you can earn FREE products just for doing your regular shopping - so don't delay!! So many super fun and cute products listed in the FREE flyer (see my blog sidebar) . . .  what are you waiting for?  Shop my online store to get started and have all your goodies ship directly to you!

Looking forward to stamping with you soon!
