Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop - Dandy Garden With Dragonfly dreams

I'm so excited to be part of our first team blog hop - we've done lots of swaps over the years, but this is the first time that a blog hop has been organized so please enjoy the journey with the creative members of our team!!

I chose to highlight the Dandy Garden Suite on p 24-25 in our January - June Mini Catalogue. There are two complete stamp set bundles in the suite - Garden Wishes with coordinating dies, and Dragonfly Garden with a punch that works so well with the Dandy Garden Designers Series 6" x 6" Papers - it's a perfect way to get some awesome cards without too much work!!

Here's my sample cards based on a recent weekly email sent to all of us demonstrators. There are always great tips and tricks from Stampin' Up! in our weekly updates and this one gives us some great options to share with you!

The first card was some #simplestamping on Basic White cardstock accented by two contrasting patterns from the Designer Series Paper Pack and one punch from the sheet with the dragonflies. I stamped the images and greetings in Basic Gray as black seemed too much of a contrast for my samples. And I stamped the dragonfly images on the envelope front for a fun accent.

The next card features more patterned blocks from the Designer Series Papers pack, and a small dragonfly punched from the same sheet as the first card. I added a few colour accents to the floral image using my Light Pear Pizzazz and Mango Melody Blends. I added Wink of Stella to all the dragonflies for some extra sparkle - can you see it??

The final card is perfect for when you have more time to put together extra elements - like the colouring on the floral image in Light Mango Melody, Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss and Dark Calypso Coral - all colours drawn from the Designers Series Papers I used. After the stamping and colouring was done, I ran the piece of Basic White cardstock through the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to get an extra bit of layering going on. This card used four different patterns from the Designer Series Papers  and hoping you can see how well they work together even though they are all very different!

Want to start making these cards on your own?  Here's the link to my shopping website so you can start your order or message me anytime to help you out!

I'd love to have you join me on my Zoom events at 7:00 pm - the 2nd Tuesday of the month is Craft and Chat, the 4th Tuesday of the month is Technique Club classes. Both are free events although the Technique Club classes give you an opportunity to share in Host Rewards when you place your orders with me or online using the current Host Code. Get all the info on the Events page on my website and register for the next session!

I hope today's hop gives you lots of inspiration - check the list below so you don't miss anyone and we love to have you leave a message too!

Happy stamping

Colour Challenge With Crafty Challenge - My Favourite Blues

I've joined the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop today to share my cards with you - it's a colour challenge and I'm loving the blues in it!

For my first card, I picked several variations on the Misty Moonlight - one of the In Colors for 2020-2022. It's a soft blue, with lots of grey undertones and yet works really well with warmer colours too - kind of like your favourite pair of jeans which goes with everything . . .  know what I mean???

This card pairs two different designs from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper Pack - these packs are a great value and perfect for mixing and matching with your projects! I even punched the gorgeous blue dragonfly from the DSP with the punch in the Dragonfly Garden Bundle. It's a perfect match for me when I can get a punch and stamp set that work so well together - and when the DSP actually punches too? Wow, I'm in heaven 💕 I added some Misty Moonlight Twill Ribbon and a few of the In Color Enamel Dots - and some Wink of Stella on my dragonfly!

My second card strayed slightly from the all blues theme, but still enough blue to qualify - I wanted to show you how well the Misty Moonlight works when you bring in a warmer colour like Bumblebee . . .  and I used even more of the coordinating papers to make this card . . . it's a great design too to use up those scraps on your table when you want a card in a hurry!

Thanks for taking a look at my cards today, and if you are looking for someone to help you create fun and pretty projects to share with your family and friends, I'd be happy to help you. Message me any time or follow the links on my Events page to get more information on my current Zoom classes. They are all free so we can share our time and learn from each other - hope to see you again soon!

If you want to shop for any of the products shown here, please use this link or message me! If you are shopping on line, please use my current Host Code so I can track your order, and send you my thank you! If you attend my Technique Club on Zoom, your qualifying order can also go into the draws to share the Host Rewards each month

Happy stamping!

Dandy Garden Makes Dragonflies Soar In This Sketch!

I had fun working on ideas for this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and finally decided on using some of the dragonflies I had punched from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Papers for another set of cards and I made this card - I love the Blackberry Bliss paper and Striped Ribbon against Basic White - so clean looking!

Here's the sketch we had to work with - I'd love to see how you interpret this sketch too!

Here's a close up of the Wink of Stella on the wings - I think my camera actually caught a bit of the wink this time!!

The stitched tracks are from my new fave Stitched With Whimsy Dies in the January-June Mini Catalogue and the greeting is from Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set that coordinates with the Dragonfly Punch - a great bundle at a great price too!

Check out the Dandy Garden Suite here and if you are ready to order, please use my Host Code AF9GWWXF until noon March 24th so I can track and put your name in the draws for sharing rewards. If your order is over $200 do not use the Host Code as you will earn your own rewards 😉

Butterfly Brilliance Collection Shines On This Sketch For You!

The sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches seemed like a great chance to break out my latest order with the Butterfly Brilliance Collection - this sketch was made for the special Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper that's exclusive to the early release of this group of products . . . . read on!

I took the first sheet of Designer Series Paper - yes, it was the one right on top . . . and ran it through my Embossing Machine with the big die - it cuts all the butterflies in one pass! I decided to use the one with the greeny-blues for my card so reached for the coordinating soft pattern in the pack to make my strips for the sketch challenge. I tucked the other die cuts into a Clear Envelope and put them safely in the front of the paper pack so they are ready for my next card idea.

I added a vellum die cut over the top, fastened with a Glue Dot and a small Gilded Gem then popped onto the DSP strips, which were flagged with the Banner Triple Punch. I added texture to my Pretty Peacock cardstock background with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder.  I wrapped the layers with the Gold Trim from the Forever Greenery Combo Pack - love the way it frays on the ends!

I used the simple Happy Birthday die from the Hey Birthday Chick Dies which are a special promotion only while they last and added it to the layers before popping onto my Thick Basic White card base. And I added some of the DSP to my envelope flap!  Need to get some products? Use this link to go direct to my site and use my Current Host Code so I can send my thank you!

What are your crafting plans for the next few days? I can see lots more butterflies in my future LOL!

Happy stamping
