I get asked what the difference is between Suites, kits, and medleys? Although they are all groupings of coordinating products to make your crafting experience easier, there are a few difference.

Suites are entire collections of themed products that coordinate. A suite has at least one stamp set, sometimes two and usually has patterned paper, dies or punches, ribbon, and embellishments.

Kits include pre-designed and pre-cut projects. They can be all-inclusive or can include project supplies with coordinating stamps and ink available separately.

Medleys are more like a mini-suite. They are a collection of coordinating supplies, but not as large as a suite, so you get a bit of everything to inspire your creativity at a budget-friendly price point.

Sunday Share - Catching Up with Cards at The Wesbrooke

Many of you know that I love my card making classes with the ladies at The Wesbrooke residence in Pitt Meadows - I've been sharing happy times with them for almost three years. COVID-19 put an end to our face to face crafting times for now, but the Recreation Director and I worked out a way for me to keep on sharing my card making with the ladies by providing them with kits each month, and some instruction sheets for them to follow and make their cards.

While it's not the same as being together, I know they are enjoying making the cards from the kits, and I'm happy they are keeping safe and healthy with their protocols in place.

My pictures today show the cards they did in July and I'm busy cutting more papers for their August kits to deliver next week.

The cards with tags are a perfect design for guys in your world and the Rustic Retreat Stamp Set is a great one with so many sayings and options . . . .  it's definitely not just for Christmas (although it does have a Christmas stamp in the set).

The Braided Linen Trim is the perfect touch to add to the die cut tags on the Terracotta card, while the Reversible Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Ribbon picks up the colours in the Pretty Peacock card.  The Stitched So Sweetly Dies were the right size for the Thinking of You greeting - if you don't have this die set you really need to get it - lots of choices to die cut backgrounds, labels and tags.

The second card features Old Olive cardstock embossed with the Meadow Moments Embossing Folder (one of a two-pack) in the Annual Catalogue - so pretty with the flowers and butterflies!! The background strip of patterned paper was retired earlier this year but was too pretty not to use for this card and I found some retired ribbon on my shelf that was a perfect match. They got to stamp the little butterfly on the envelope too!

Thinking of You sentiment came from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp set - some lovely scripty greetings and flower images as well as coordinating dies to make cutting a breeze!

I'm always happy when I can make cards that use up some of my older papers and add new products to keep them fresh and fun! And you know that when we use up our papers we can buy more!!

What are you stamping lately? Do you make a card to send to someone special or do you make a few cards at a time to be ready for any occasion? I do a bit of both 😀 so I'm usually ready for unexpected needs! Check out my online store now for all your papers, inks and supplies to keep crafting! It's a brand new look so you may need to rest your password and save the new URL (where you find my store!!)

Happy stamping!

It's a Brand New Store Experience - On Line and Open for Business!

New Online Store

Beginning August 4th at 7:00 AM (MT) Stampin' Up! rolled out a new and improved online shopping experience! And they did this while I was camping with no reliable internet to let you know LOL!

There are quite a few improvements that I'm pretty sure you'll really like.  I'm most excited about the new site working seamlessly on desktops, smartphones, and tablets, larger images for products and samples (so easier to see), more intuitive navigation and searches, and last but not least, you can create a wish list and favourites! And the wish list is shareable so you can let family know what you'd REALLY like!! Take a look at some of the features highlighted below then check it out using the "Visit My Store" link to browse through the site.

Rest assured your account information and password still work with the new site. Because this is a new site you will need to sign in the first time you shop. If you had your browser remember your email and password, it won't be saved anymore. If you are unsure of your login ID and password, I recommend using the Forgot Password link to reset your password as soon as possible (see steps below).

Please visit my store any time after August 4th, sign in, and select me as your demonstrator. You may still use a demonstrators host/hostess code with your order if you do that each time you order - just check my latest blog posts for a code (I'm hoping to get a spot on the top of my blog so it's easy to check for the code before you order!).  The best way to be sure you are shopping with me is to look for my name at the top bar just to the right of the Canada flag icon - then you know I'll be there to help with any problems, and you will get my thank you gifts at the end of each month too!

Use the Feedback to comment on any part of the new site - Stampin' Up! wants to know what you like and what you are having problems with! Need help ordering or with a project? Contact me any time!

Happy Stamping!

Ginny

Kylie's Demo Training Blog Hop August 2020 - Posted For You Bundle

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator Monthly Team Blog Hop! I really hope you check out all our posts and get inspiration from these amazing demonstrators to create your own projects.

I’m Ginny Duncan from Maple Ridge, BC Canada and I’m so happy you stopped by today! You may be starting here  or have come from another blog - either way you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea.

It's still summer on the West Coast where I live, so I decided to show you a bundle from the Annual Catalogue that I recently featured in our Stampin' Up! Canada Newsletter for demonstrators.  I’ve always loved stamps with postage themes – as a young girl I collected stamps so maybe that’s why I had to get the Posted For You Bundle on p 81! Postage stamps make me think of travel and faraway places – so the nostalgia theme in this set is perfect for cards and layouts. The script on the greetings is an ideal match for the stamps – you will have fun making cards and travel layouts too with this bundle! Click here to purchase now or add to your wish list!

There are a few techniques to make the card on the page so grab your favourite beverage while you follow along!

To mask the birds, I put some tape over the lower half of the image, inked the image (I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on my stamping), removed the tape and checked I had the details I wanted, then stamped. The other altered image was the “Love” one where the concept artists only inked up the flower  - I used my Stampin’ Write Black Marker to ink those details, then huffed and stamped. I stamped the other images on Whisper White scraps until I had all five done. I then punched each one with the Rectangular Postage Punch – super easy! To modify three of the punched images to be smaller – I carefully slid the punched piece back into the underside of the punch opening until it was the desired length then punched again for the new size.

I used my Sponge Daubers and Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Seaside Spray and Bumblebee inks to add some subtle colours to the postage stamp shapes. Quick and no mess! I added a bit of colour to the inside stamp and I stamped the envelope

My card base is Old Olive Cardstock 8 ½” x 5 ½”, scored at 4 ¼”. The Ornate Garden DSP was cut to 4” x 5 ¼” and the finished postage stamp pieces were added directly to this piece – looked a bit like a puzzle! I adhered a 4” piece of the Open Weave Ribbon from Forever Greenery Trim pack with Tear & Tape across the middle of the pieces.

I stamped the greeting in Memento Black on a strip of Bumblebee Cardstock (1/2” x 3”) and popped with Dimensionals over the Open Weave Ribbon. I wrapped about 30” of the Gold Trim (from the same pack) around twice and tied in a bow. The last step was adding some clear Flowers For Every Season Gems. Attach the DSP layer to your card base with Dimensionals and it’s done!

Did you know that this punch works perfectly with the Festive Post Stamp set in the new Mini Catalogue?? I LOVE it when we can use our tools with more than one set!!

Which stamps are you buying to go with this punch?? Click here to get your Festive Post stamps now or add to your wish list! Maybe like me, you can soon say "All of them"!! 😄

Thank you so much for visiting today! We have an awesome group  of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators from around the world, and we know you are going to love all their projects as you go through all the links.

Remember you are currently on my page – Ginny Duncan and I appreciate all your comments!  See who is below my name to know where to go next.

Sunday Share - Forever Greenery Suite - Tranquil Greens Set the Stage + New Shop Info

The Annual Catalogue Inspiration

Forever Greenery Suite

When you think of leaves you may think of autumn, but the Forever Greenery Suite is here to change your mind!

This gorgeous collection of leafy images and greetings is one of my top must-have items from the new Annual Catalogue. The detailed images are timeless and work with a variety of styles from rustic to modern. Use them alone for quick and simple cards or add the dies and coordinating embellishments to really create that wow effect.

These leaves won't fall behind in autumn, I'll be reaching for them to create all year-round. The shabby chic card tutorial in my newsletter is just one example of the colourful creations you can make with this suite!

Important Notice!!

The Stampin' Up! Online store is being updated on August 4th. Not only will you see the new products from the upcoming Mini (Holiday) Catalogue, but also an updated new look!

Because this involves some server changes, there is one thing you should do ahead of time if you have ever shopped in my online store.

You need to make sure you know your password and login for online ordering. If you have your computer set to automatically remember this information, it might not work come August 4th.   Your browser hasn’t “met” the new site yet, so it won't know that it needs to remember the password!

If you can, log in today HERE and make sure you know your password which will make it easier when you shop on the new site.

No worries if you don't and can't get logged in. There are two things you can do to fix this:

  1. Click on the "Forgot Your Password" link password to reset yours (be sure to check your junk folder for the reset email if you don't see it right away!)
  2. Call the support line at 1800-Stamp-Up to get them to help you.

Once you've done that, you will be ready to visit the new site and enjoy a much easier shopping experience! Let me know what you think of the new site :-)

Happy Stamping!

Ginny
