It's Mother's Day today - whether you are a mom, have a mom or have someone in your life who is like a mom - we hope that you can take some time to reflect and enjoy this day that's set aside to honour all the mom-like feelings in our world 💕🙂💌 and maybe touch base with one or more people who mean the most to you when you think of "mom".
Here's a quick card to make if you forgot one - quicker than going to the store and choosing one for sure! I'm sharing a CASE from the Spring Mini using Happy Hedgehogs Stamp Set on p 64 which has some great images as well as the featured Hedgehogs! And adding the punch makes a great bundle that you can quickly make some really cute cards!
Today's card is a notecard size, so perfect to add to a gift from the heart . . . maybe you are baking a cake, cutting some flowers from your garden, or finding a special treat that you know will make your special someone happy. In addition to one of the Basic White Notecard and Envelope p 137, you will need a Basic White cardstock layer measuring 3" x 4 1/2" to stamp and colour.
I protected my grid paper with a sheet of paper towel just in case but I didn't make too much of a mess! Add Calypso Coral ink to a clear block, then take the fine tip Water Painter and drip a bit of water on the block, then swish around and draw lines on the Notecard front. Add more ink to the clear block, then use the large flat brush tip to make the wide lines. Don't worry about getting them straight - the stamping layer will cover any wavy lines!
Stamp your greeting in Calypso Coral Ink - mine is from Celebrating You on p 65 in the Spring Mini still going strong until the end of June so don't overlook some of the great products in it! My picture below shows how I added a small post-it to my Basic White piece so I could easily line it up in my punch. This is a great tip for using smaller pieces to stamp and punch your greetings.
I stamped the pretty tree image from Happy Hedgehogs in Memento Black and added bits of colour with Old Olive and Calypso Coral Blends to the tree. I also stamped the butterfly on the envelope front and dabbed some bits of colour on it too.
There you are - while your cake was baking, you've made this card which will be appreciated so much! While I have my supplies out I usually make another card or two so I punched a "Thank You" greeting for my other card so I have it handy when I need to grab one in a hurry.
Here's another card I made awhile back that shows more of the Happy Hedgehog images - the hedgehog was stamped, coloured then punched, the bird and toadstool were stamped, coloured and fussy cut before adding to my card. So cute!!
