My inspiration today came from the Freshly Made Sketches #516 which worked perfectly with my idea for the flowers (actually I got the idea from the SAB flyer as the concept artist suggested stamping on the DSP!)
I made my card as a portrait style to go along with the sketch, then decided when I was done to make another one and see how it looked landscape style! Both of them are pretty true to the sketch idea so I thought I'd share both with you.
The card base is a standard size 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" in Thick Basic White, scored at 4 1/4". I added a layer of the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper 4" x 5 1/4", then a smaller Vellum Cardstock layer 3 1/4" x 4 1/2". I stamped the flowers and leaves in Memento Black Ink on a piece of the coordinating DSP then fussy cut it out and popped it onto the vellum. The greeting is on a Basic White die cut circle, backed by a Fresh Freesia circle die cut from In Color Shimmer Vellum (Annual Catalogue). I added some of the Fresh Freesia 38" Open Weave Ribbon to finish off the card. Add some of the DSP to the envelope flap for a finished look!
Sketches are meant to get us creating and it's not necessary or expected that they will be followed exactly - unless you really want to! I also fussy cut some flower images to go onto the front corner of the envelope for card #2 - giving the person getting the card a sneak peek of what's inside - a fun touch!
