A Gift Card Fold for Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop

Welcome to our Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop for November - I'm so happy you dropped by to share our fun projects today! Our theme this month is "folds" and I thought this was a great way to remind you of a quick and easy way to add gift cards to your family or friends Holiday greetings - grab your cuppa' and take a look!

I've loved making cards with the Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Papers this year - such a pretty colour palette and the hits of silver make for some great sparkle too! For my main card today, I decided to make my card base in Misty Moonlight as it's a perfect contrast for the lighter shades in the DSP and it's one of the coordinating colours listed on the back of the package (see how easy it is to match your look?).

Simply score your 4 1/4" x 11" base at 5 1/2" and at 2". The 2" score line tucks under to become the gift card holder and the rest gets decorated like a normal card.  You can add a variety of embellishments to your card and envelope - today I decided to add some of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon as a backing to my greeting and I fussy cut some of the packages on the DSP to pop them onto the card front before adding a few rhinestones. I added some DSP and a Silver Foil strip to the envelope flap.

Inside the card got a Basic White panel to add your personal touch and the gift card pocket was fastened down with Tear & Tape and prettied up with more of the DSP in a more neutral Misty Moonlight pattern.

While I'm sharing gift card holder ideas, I thought I'd include a couple I did for my Craft and Chat evening earlier this month. Our Basic White (or Very Vanilla) Notecards and Envelopes are the perfect size to adapt for gift cards -  and I had fun sharing them with everyone on our Zoom call.  They are so quick - simply trim about 1" off the 5" side, fold on the score line, add some DSP to the top panel, then decorate the front panel as you like. Use your Tear and Tape to fasten the pocket down and you are ready to pop in your gift card. Add some DSP to your envelope, emboss the back flap or stamp one of the smaller images on a corner of the envelope - it adds a fun bit to your gift!

Do you send gift cards? I know it's the perfect way to give gifts to those who are far away and I try to personalize the gift card holders so they are special to each recipient. Here's another one from my Zoom Craft and Chat using Tidings of Christmas DSP and Wintry 3D Embossing Folder.
