Hooray To You With A Sketch Blog Hop!

 

Welcome to another Crafty Challenge Blog Hop - today is all about how we interpret the sketch - take a look at my card sample and then check out all the other great ideas.  They are sure to inspire you when you need to make a card but can't decide where to start! Sketches are a perfect way to give you some direction when you most need it!! Here's the sketch for today:

I was pulling retiring stamp sets from my shelves (yes, I DO have a few retiring!!)  and realized this sketch was made for the Hooray To You stamp set - the circle . . .  the words in the middle  . . . it all works! So here's a fond farewell to a stamp I love and the Brights Designer Series Paper too . . . .

I made the background using my Blending Brushes and a template punched from the retiring Balloon Bouquet Punch - I used the smaller balloon and taped the larger one back in it's space so I wouldn't go over the lines with my blending brushes . . . those brushes make it so easy to create your own coordinated background - just pick a colour (in this case Granny Apple Green) and go for it!!

The balloon itself was stamped in Magenta Madness and I added some of the retiring In Color Enamel Dots to the side of the balloon. I carefully inked only the balloon part then added the string with my Stampin' Write Basic Black marker, a quick "huff" to moisten and stamp! Need to get this stamp before it's gone?? Canada Inks Up! Team Blog Hop - Color & Contour Bundle

 

Welcome back to another team blog hope - so excited to have you drop by! Our theme this month is anything from the pre-order - as demonstrators we get the opportunity to order products from catalogues before they are revealed and can start creating fun projects so much sooner! 

My card today is a CASE from the new Annual Catalogue showing off the Color & Contour Bundle - the stamp set is full of great greetings in fun fonts and some flowers and leaves that look like they've been sketched. There are also some fill-in stamps so you don't even need to colour if you want to just stamp! The Scalloped Contour dies are a fabulous set of dies that will work for backgrounds like my card front and for inside too when you need a space to write your message. 

The sponged effect was super easy with our new Blending Brushes and some scrap paper or a large Post-it to use as your guide. I did all my sponging first, and then die cut the piece so I could pick the best part to use.  This would be a great card to show to fairly new stampers who want a bit of extra fun with their stamping experience! 

It was a simple matter to stamp the flower images onto the sponged piece with Memento Black Ink. I added both sentiments to the front - as they are separate stamps it would be very easy to add one on the front and the second inside . . . hmm maybe next time! I did add some new In Color Jewels to the centre of the flowers - they worked really well to add that bit of bling!

Salute To Retiring In Colors - Which Ones Will You Miss??

 Todays' Blog Hop is a fond farewell to the 2019-2021 In Colors that have been such a colourful addition to our palette for the past two years . . . .

Sunday Share - Well Suited For The Guys in Our Lives

 

Well Suited Suite

Fear not my creative friends! The Well Suited Suite is here, and it's the perfect solution we've been searching to find for those hard-to-create masculine cards. This suite is ideal for masculine birthdays, Father's day, and a few more unexpected uses, too.

Celebrating Mothers With Timeless Tulips - Stampin Dreams Blog Hop

 

Today I'm joining a great group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators sharing some amazing projects to celebrate the "mothers" in our lives - maybe it's your own mom, or children who are now moms, or someone who has held a similar role in your life that you cherish and want to honour . . .  grab your mug and join us as we celebrate all the moms in our circle of love!

My card today reminds me of gathering tulips from our garden and presenting them to my mom - even though sometimes I'm sure she wished we would leave them in the garden for passersby to enjoy too! 

Timeless Tulips is such a great Stamp Set with its variety of tulip images and greetings as well as the coordinating punch to easily cut the stamped flowers and leaves or punch straight from cardstock . . . and the best news is that they will be back in the new Annual Catalogue!!  I've had so much fun creating spring cards that it was hard to know what to show for this blog hop!

I decided to share this card, with lots of folds so you can add more than one layer of flowers - something that would make any mom smile I'm sure! And you can see it would make a pretty birthday card too by changing to a different greeting from the stamp set - so versatile! The patterned papers are from the Playing With Patterns DSP stack - some wonderful combinations that you want to get before they retire (check my retiring list online)!

Sunday Share - Happy Easter!

 

Easter is a time for us to look forward to new beginnings along with longer days and evenings and warmer weather. Our younger son's family welcome new lambs to their farm and we welcome flowers in our garden . . . 

It's a time for us to connect with family and friends, and if we can't be together in person, we can still send cards, or drop off little treats at their doors to say "we are thinking of you". These were our Easter treats this year - for my customer orders this past week, and for our family that we can't be with to celebrate Easter. 

However you celebrate this long weekend, I hope you stay safe and healthy in your bubble of choice so we can see each other soon!

Retiring Products - Get Them While You Can!!

 

Stampin' Up! has released the list of retiring products and many Last Chance Products are on sale! Now is the time to get those last items off your wish list ordered before they are gone for good - you don't want to be that one who missed out!!

My Top 5 Retirement List Tips:

1) In Colors: All 2019-2021 In Color inks, paper, and embellishments are retiring. These items usually sell out quickly so don't forget to add ink refills and extra cardstock for your craft stash. You don't want to miss having these gorgeous colours in your collection!

2) Stamps vs. Accessories: Retiring stamps are available through May 3rd. All other retiring items such as; bundles, paper, embellishments, dies are only available while supplies last, so you don't want to wait and miss out.

3) Bundles: Bundles, with their 10% savings, all retire! Even if the bundle items carryover to the next catalogue the discount does not so save on bundles while you can. Bundles are only available while supplies last.

4) Online Ordering: Your best bet for grabbing items before they sell out is to order online!
