Sunday Share - First Technique Club Class Projects

 If you've read my recent newsletters, you will know I started a new program for the New Year - I'm calling them Technique Club Classes and you can join in on the fun on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. There will be a special newsletter each month announcing the classes with a zoom link to register and I'll send a reminder on the day so you don't forget. And you can start anytime, and skip if you aren't available! There's no limit to the number who can attend so plan to be on Zoom for the next one!

The first few months we will be exploring all the ways you can use the new Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes. They are so soft you might want to use them as makeup brushes but please save them for your inking fun!!

Here's the first two techniques we did last week - the first is Colour Blocking (masking) using post-it notes for the different colour blocks - and I aded the Sale-a-Bration Darling Donkeys for the finishing touch! So cute 😉

The second technique is called Colour Blending where we did a softer gradient blending look with our sample of Basic White cardstock. You can use any colours in your ink pad collection to make the samples, and experiment with your stamps to get the final result. I stamped another image from a Sale-a-Bration set called Corner Bouquet and the greeting is from a new stamp in the January-June Mini called Enjoy the Moment.   Those Matt Black Dots are the perfect finishing touch and are also in the new Mini.

Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper For a Clean Card

I've been looking at sketches a lot lately as they can be really inspiring when we are looking for card making ideas - this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches caught my eye this morning and I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it!

The sketch is great because it's clean, quick and uses up some of those special papers we have on our desk that we just don't want to get rid of - in my case I had some Dandy Garden Designer Series Papers sitting out from a previous project and I really wanted to make something more. I even fussy cut the dragonfly from the paper sheet I had after cutting off three 1/2" strips for the front.   I added a final strip to the envelope front. 

I love how this card turned out - the greeting on the front is from Ornate Thanks Stamp set and I think I'll wait until I use the card to decide what I will add to the inside. It can be for a birthday, thank you or any other occasion . . . . I stamped the greeting on a 1/2" strip of Basic White, then flagged one end. This is a good trick if you want to be sure to have your greeting straight on the card and are a bit wary of stamping directly onto the card front.

Sunday Share - Pinwheel Cards and a Peek at Darling Donkeys!

Happy New Year to each one of you - sending my virtual hugs since I have to keep my hands behind my back these days while wearing my mask! Not that I really mind if it helps keep all of us healthy so we can meet again sooner 😉😷 but my body wants to hug!!

I made a few of these pinwheel cards as my last ones for Christmas this year, and realized I didn't share them with you so here they are - 

They are super easy to make and I will happily send you the instructions so you can make them at home for any occasion. They would be great for birthdays, thinking of you - really any event since you just need to change up the Designer Series Paper, coordinate with some cardstock add your greeting and presto! you have a whole new look!
